"When Robin and I first met, we hit it off immediately. She has a great sense of humor, even though her circumstances are rather grim. I have delivered Meals on Wheels for almost 15 years, so when they really needed Groceries to Go volunteers, they contacted all of us asking if we could help or knew someone who could help. My son was 12 or 13 at the time, so didn’t need constant supervision, and I just knew I was supposed to do this. ... So what do I get in return for shopping for a Groceries to Go client? Friendship I didn’t expect, as sense that I am giving back to the universe, an appreciation for how fortunate I am to be in good health, and a hope that someday if I am ever less fortunate, someone will be there to help me.
